I offer excellent mental health and well-being support backed by research.

I am a fully licensed therapist with 10 years of experience helping adult and teens gain self-understanding, break unhelpful patterns, and create lasting change. My collaborative, practical approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Somatic Experiencing (SE), to build insight, develop skills, and promote nervous system regulation in a warm, supportive environment. I engage my clients in practical exercises and assign therapeutic homework between sessions to promote ongoing growth and development.

For those who have already graduated from therapy or are looking for a different type of support, I also offer comprehensive coaching. You will experience practical, goal-focused coaching that assists you in navigating life events in a way that promotes your clarity and self-confidence.

Coaching or Therapy?

Therapy is the right fit for clients whose presenting symptoms are impairing their daily life and functioning. This means your anxiety might be holding you back from applying for promotions at work or is perhaps keeping you from going to work altogether. Maybe you’re experiencing angry outbursts or mood swings that are detrimental to your intimate partner relationship. Maybe you feel so sad or hopeless about the state of the world that you are self-isolating, self-harming, or even contemplating suicide. These are all great and valid reasons for beginning your therapy journey.

Coaching is often the best fit for those who are not currently experiencing any mental health crises and are instead feeling well enough to tackle what comes next. You want to go from ‘fine’ to ‘good’ to ‘great’ and coaching can be an excellent vehicle for this. Unlike with therapy services, coaching allows me to ‘go with you’ when you move out of state or take a trip out of the country! Our work together is able to continue seamlessly and without interruption.

Cash-pay vs Insurance for therapy

Cash-pay therapy is the best fit for those who do not want their medical record disclosed to their insurance company. Cash-pay therapy can be a great fit for those who may be trying to ‘stay ahead of’ their symptoms and do not currently meet criteria for a DSM diagnosis [i.e. Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, etc.] but who do have symptoms they wish to address or to keep in remission.

Insurance-based therapy is a great way to utilize benefits that you already pay for. You must have symptoms that are ‘clinically significant’ - as in they impair your functioning; this is what justifies “medical necessity” in order to bill insurance. A mental health diagnosis and a treatment plan will be submitted to your insurance provider in order to access your insurance benefits.

All therapy clients must be located in the state in which I hold clinical licensure. If you travel or move to state where I am not licensed, I cannot meet with you even if your insurance remains active.
